Neck Pain for 5 Years
I was
referred to Dr. Genrick by a friend in the spring of 2003. My symptoms had come
and gone for five years due to a neck injury. My condition was horrible by the
time I had seen Dr. Genrick. I could not bend forward and bending backwards was
not at all possible. I could not move my neck sideways. I had headaches and it
was difficult to concentrate at time. Some mornings I found myself crawling to
get to the bathroom because my muscles in my back were so tight. It was
difficult to get a good night sleep.
The
first time my neck went out was almost six years ago. I went to urgent care
because I could not move my neck. I was prescribed 800 milligrams of ibuprofen.
Needless to say, a quick fix. I have been prescribed muscle relaxants; I would
get a good night sleep but would still have pain and problems later. I had been
to physical therapist several times this gave me some relief but usually it was
only temporary. I was given a neck traction unit for my home so that if the
nerve in my neck starts to pinch, I was to simply put myself in traction for 20
minutes. While this helped, it again was only temporary. The only time I was
given great relief is when I went and saw a chiropractor.
Since
spring I can now have a normal life. I am even back to exercising on a regular
basis. I have regained strength in my muscles and I now have feeling in my
fingers, which I had thought I would never get back. I was going to Dr. Genrick
a couple times a week to start an am now down to once a week. I noticed a
dramatic change in my health within a few weeks. My attitude on life has now
changed. I feel like nothing is impossible physically or mentally.
I can
not emphasize enough to anyone how this has changed my life. I no longer live in
pain and feel good about the future. I like the fact that Dr. Genrick took the
time to go over my condition and what she could do to help. I am also thankful
that she looks at the whole person. She just does not adjust the back, but
advised me of what things I can do such as exercise to keep my lower back
muscles strong and diet for a better living. She takes the time and cares. No
only does she proudly show the following phrase:
“The
Doctor of the future will give no medicine but will interest his/her patients in
the care of the human frame, in diet and in the cause and prevention of
disease.” (Thomas Edison)
Dr.
Genrick is this…
Thank
you
